    On the 8th of March, the opening ceremony of the First Polish Film Festival in Taiwan took place. Among the invited guests were representatives of the central administration of Taiwan, Taiwanese film industry, media and Polish Diaspora.

    The Festival is part of a project prepared by the Polish Filmmakers Association on the occasion of the Centenary of Poland Regaining Independence, which aims at presenting to international audience the history of Poland through the presentation of selected works of Polish cinematography. The screenings include the following films: Ashes and Diamonds, The Promised Land, Nights and Days, Man of Marble, The Pianist , Warsaw 44, and Volhynia. The shows organized by the Polish Filmmakers Association, Polish Office in Taipei and the IFilm take place in the Eslite Art House at the Songshan Cultural Park daily until March 14.
