The signing of a sister city agreement between Łódź and Tainan is the first such initiative in 14 years, marking the beginning of broad and multi-dimensional cooperation between these important urban centers. On the same day, in the presence of the Mayor of Łódź, Hanna Zdanowska, the Łódź University of Technology and the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) signed a cooperation agreement covering the topics of research and student exchange.
The agreement was signed on June 6 — a date of symbolic significance, as the number 6 is considered a symbol of good fortune in Taiwanese culture.
