Promotion of Polish design in Taiwan
03.12.2023
From December 3 to 8, two representatives of the world of Polish design visited Taipei: Rene Wawrzkiewicz from the Polish Graphic Design Foundation and Marcin Nowicki from the Noviki Studio design studio.
As part of the "Poland - Taiwan Research 2023" project, they conducted a series of lectures on the use of artificial intelligence in graphic design and presented the latest Polish visual projects in many institutions and universities in Taiwan. Their presentations gathered over 330 listeners.
Lectures were held, among others, during "Taiwan Design Week" at the Taiwan Design Research Institute, National Taipei University of Technology, Ming Chuan University, Misty Book Store, National Taiwan Normal University and Shih Chien University. Additionally, numerous meetings were held with representatives of leading Taiwanese design organizations, such as Javin Mo from the Milkxhake studio, Jessie Chen from Circle Magazine, Tingyi S. Lin from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, as well as members of the Taiwan Graphic Design Association and the organizers of Taipei Illustration Fair.
The Polish Office in Taipei sponsored the "Poland - Taiwan Research 2023" project, supporting it both organizationally and promotionally. The visit of Mr. Wawrzkiewicz and Mr. Nowicki was an excellent opportunity to promote Polish design art not only among experts, but also among students. The project was the first step towards deepening cooperation between Poland and Taiwan in the area of broadly understood design and cultural exchange. Next year, a joint Polish-Taiwanese exhibition and a conference for professionals are planned in cooperation with the Polish Graphic Design Foundation.
