Polish Office in Taipei

From 3 to 8 February 2026, during the international book fair Taipei International Book Exhibition, the Polish Office in Taipei, in cooperation with the Book Institute, presented Polish literature at a booth dedicated to Poland.

The exhibited titles included recent Polish publications, children’s and young adult books, as well as comics. Particular attention was drawn to Complete Poems by Wisława Szymborska, published in Taiwan in recent months and translated into Chinese using traditional characters.

The event was accompanied by meetings with illustrator Joanna Bartosik, translator Wei-Yun Lin, and a review panel devoted to The Books of Jacob by Olga Tokarczuk, published in Taiwan last year.

The Polish pavilion attracted a large audience, who browsed the displayed books, collected commemorative stamps, and took part in panels and discussions with authors. The pavilion was also visited by Taiwanese journalists preparing coverage dedicated to Poland for this year’s Taipei International Book Exhibition.
