EES - a modern and efficient European border management system

The Entry/Exit System (EES) is a new European border management system that allows for the registration of non-EU citizens traveling for short stays in the EU each time they cross the external borders of 29 European countries.
Starting October 12, 2025, the 29 European countries using the EES will gradually implement the system at their external borders over a six-month period. During this period, traveler data collection may not occur immediately at all border crossings. Once the gradual rollout is complete, the EES will be fully operational at all external border crossings.
