“Captains of Illustration: 100 years of Children’s Books from Poland” – an exhibition

The presentation of the exhibition "Captains of Illustration: 100 years of Children's Books from Poland" took place at the Taichung Public Library from March 2 to April 30.
The exhibition was organized by the Taichung Public Library and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, with the support of the Polish Office in Taipei.
The illustrations at the exhibition come from the book "Captains of Illustration: 100 years of Children's Books from Poland", published by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in 2019. The collection of illustrations includes works made by 12 Polish artists. The popularity of the exhibition among Taiwanese readers resulted in extending its stay in Taichung by a month, until April 30.
Previously, the exhibition was enjoyed by the Taiwanese audience during the 2023 Taipei International Book Exhibition, where it was viewed by over 200,000 people. The transfer of the exhibition to Taiwan's second largest city was the result of a newly established cooperation with Taiwanese libraries. After its stay in Taichung ended, the exhibition was moved to Yilan City.
