On the occasion of the 232th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of 3 May, the Taiwanese daily journal Taipei Times published an article by the director of the Polish Office in Taipei, Cyryl Kozaczewski.
The article emphasizes the development of relations between Poland and Taiwan, which include, among others, three mutual parliamentary delegations visits in 2022, economic dialogue, the establishment of a joint working group on semiconductors and participation in the 2023 International Book Fair in Taipei with Poland as a guest of honor.
“On this day 232 years ago Poles approved a constitution — the first written act of its kind in Europe. It was an example of immense political innovation of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth parliament, which empowered citizens by promoting freedom and equality.”
“In keeping with tradition, ideals and values of the 1791 constitution, Poland strongly values the bilateral cooperation, recalling the solidarity and mutual support in challenging times, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and instability caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.”
